Trial lawyer and mediator Mark Mazzarella continued his perceptive and amusing take on advocacy best practices in his second installment of “Everything I Really Need to Know About Trials I Learned in Kindergarten.”
Published in the June 2025 edition of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) San Diego’s ABTL Report, the article continues Mark’s list of cheeky advice for trial attorneys, including:
- Creating an “issue list” at the start of a case is as important as learning the proper ways to eat as a child
- Clean up your own mess when you make a mistake
- Don’t hurt others, but say “I’m sorry” when you do
- Be curious
- Don’t take what’s not yours – including time and work product
- Eat the cookie, walk on the beach and enjoy a balanced life
