Duckor Metzger & Wynne, APLC Associate Patrick C. Sterba is a litigator who focuses on business, employment and probate disputes, bringing his own diverse business experience to provide practical solutions that meet clients’ unique needs.
Patrick started at the firm as a law clerk. He received an offer to join the firm as an attorney upon passing the California Bar. He works on a variety of litigation matters, including breach of contract cases, harassment and retaliation employment claims, property disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets and probate disputes.
In every matter he works on, Patrick meticulously pays attention to details, which strengthens his ability to support DMW’s clients.
A Southern California native, Patrick became interested in being a litigator after watching his mother, also an attorney, in court when he was younger.
Patrick’s exposure to the business world came from jobs he held while studying business as an undergraduate. An avid surfer, he worked as a business development intern at a surf school in Hawaii, helping the business build relationships with nearby hotels to get referrals and reviewing contracts. He also served as a marketing intern for a surfboard company in San Clemente, where he developed creative ideas to sell surfboards and helped navigate through supply chain issues.
When Patrick was in high school, he founded the nonprofit Military Beach Day Foundation after noticing Camp Pendleton-based Marines at San Clemente Beach who were unprepared for a day at the beach. He raised money to teach the Marines — many of whom had never been to a beach before — how to have a good beach day experience with the right gear and surf lessons. This work earned Patrick the U.S. Congressional Youth Silver and Bronze medals for community contributions.
