Duckor Metzger & Wynne, APLC is excited to announce the addition of two distinguished professionals, Mark Mazzarella and Eve Mazzarella, to its legal team. Their extensive experience and unique backgrounds will significantly enhance the firm’s capabilities in litigation, mediation services and land use guidance.
The father-daughter team joins DMW from Mazzarella Law, a litigation-focused firm founded by Mark, a veteran litigator who brings more than four decades of legal experience, including nearly 100 trials, to his role as Of Counsel in DMW’s Litigation Department. Known for his exceptional ability to resolve conflicts through mediation and arbitration, Mark has participated in hundreds of such proceedings, as well as trials, resulting in verdicts, settlements and judgments totaling over $330 million and the successful defense of more than $2 billion in claims. Mark will serve in a strategic and advisory role within DMW’s Litigation Department as well as offer services as a mediator and arbitrator.

Mark’s career is marked by his talent for winning “unwinnable” cases. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants and is known for his fair and unbiased approach to dispute resolution. He co-authored the best-selling books “Reading People” and “Put Your Best Foot Forward.”
An active member of the San Diego legal community, he is a past chair of the State Bar of California’s Litigation Section and a two-term past president of The Association of Business Trial Lawyers San Diego Chapter. Mark has also served as judge pro tem for the San Diego Superior Court and chaired various committees for the San Diego County Superior and Municipal Courts, and the U.S. District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California. He has been selected as one of “America’s Top 100 Bet-the-Company Litigators” and one of “America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators.”
Eve Mazzarella brings more than a decade of experience in the real estate and development industry to her role as legal researcher and analyst at DMW. Transitioning to the legal field in 2008, Eve has since played a key role in high-stakes business and real estate disputes, including land use issues.
As a paralegal, Eve contributed significantly to numerous civil trials involving claims exceeding $300 million and participated in over 100 depositions and dozens of mediations. After completing the State of California’s four-year Law Office Study Program, she passed the Bar Exam in 2023.
Eve has a proven track record in managing subdivisions, resolving zoning disputes and representing clients before various community groups and local agencies, including the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. She has successfully negotiated with multiple city governments and worked with the San Diego County Tax Assessor and Tax Collector.
