The Daily Journal named Duckor Metzger & Wynne, APLC, Shareholder Rose Huelskamp Serrano as one of California’s Top Labor and Employment Lawyers for 2025.
A seasoned litigator and trusted advisor, Rose represents employers across a wide range of industries — from healthcare and financial services to hospitality, public agencies and residential senior living facilities. Her well-rounded practice spans wage and hour disputes, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) claims.
The leading legal trade publication said in a profile published on July 30 that Rose’s ability to balance legal strategy with business practicality sets her apart. The newspaper noted that she is often called upon for time-sensitive, high-stakes counsel on pre-litigation employment matters, helping clients assess risk, make thoughtful decisions and avoid costly disputes. When litigation does arise, she is a strong advocate focused on early, cost-effective resolutions that align with the client’s goals — especially in cases involving public entities, where taxpayer dollars and board-level decisions are involved.
The unpredictable nature and human elements of employment law are both challenging and rewarding aspects of her employment law practice, Rose says. “These are not always straightforward legal problems; they’re human problems with legal consequences,” she told the Daily Journal.
Rose has spent more than 20 years representing employers. In the profile, she acknowledges that mentorship by DMW’s John Wynne was pivotal in her early years practicing in the field. She learned from him the basics of effectively managing employment litigation and developed what she calls a “balanced risk analysis” for employment matters.
In addition to her employment work, Rose leads DMW’s Estate Planning, Trust Administration and Probate and Trust & Estate Litigation practices and continues to contribute meaningfully to the legal profession and her community.
Congratulations, Rose, on this well-earned and well-deserved recognition!
